Three situations. One honest answer for each.
Nothing sets an operator back faster than a bad website migration. If you're ranking on page 1 for "[city] plumber" and the move breaks your URLs, you can lose months of built-up visibility in a weekend. We only charge for the protection your situation actually needs.
What you get either way
- 01 Build and rank The site, and the search work behind it
- 02 Hostage-free Domain and backups stay in your accounts
- 03 Published pricing No “request a quote”
- 04 Rank-safe migration Existing rankings carried across
- 05 Operator-built We have run service businesses
- 06 Timeline in writing Agreed up front, before you commit
No site, or a parked domain
You bought the domain and never built a site, or you have a parked landing page from your registrar. This folds into the build. There's no separate migration step.
- Cloudflare DNS pointed at the new build
- Off-hours cutover
- SSL provisioned automatically
- You're live
Old CMS, no rankings worth saving
You have an old Wix, Squarespace or Weebly site that doesn't rank for anything, but has years of business content, like an about page, service descriptions, and a photo gallery, that we can pull forward instead of making you rewrite it all.
- Existing copy and photos extracted
- Anything worth keeping carried forward
- DNS swap to the new site
- Old site retired cleanly
Existing organic rankings to protect
Your current site shows up on page 1 of Google for at least one service search ("plumber near me", "[city] electrician"). Cutting that wrong can cost months of built-up visibility overnight. The $400 is the process that prevents it, not a profit center.
- Pre-crawl and ranking baseline
- URL-by-URL 301 redirect map
- Content and schema preservation
- Side-by-side staging URL for review
- Off-hours cutover, low-traffic window
- 30-day ranking watch, rollback ready
You always own your domain. Period.
Your domain account stays in your name at GoDaddy / Namecheap / wherever you bought it. We don't move it.
We manage DNS via Cloudflare. You can revoke our access in 5 minutes by changing your nameservers.
Hostage-Free is a clause in every Siteshop contract, not just a line in the marketing. If you ever want to leave, the keys are yours instantly.
The questions operators actually ask.
How do I know which situation I'm in?
Easiest answer: book a 15-minute call and we'll pull your current rankings live. If you're showing up on page 1 of Google for any service search, Rank-Safe Migration applies. If your current site isn't ranking for anything that matters, it's folded straight into the build at no extra line item. We don't sell migration to someone who doesn't have rankings to protect.
What's the worst case?
We don't promise a specific outcome, because nobody honestly can. What we do promise is the process: every old URL mapped and redirected before cutover, rankings watched daily for 30 days after, and a rollback ready if anything looks wrong. The $400 is that process, not a profit center for us.
How long does the cutover itself take?
Cutover happens during a low-traffic window, timed to your site's own traffic pattern. Most operators don't notice it happening. The 30-day watch runs in the background afterward. You don't need to do anything during or after.
Do I lose my old site?
Backed up before we touch anything, restorable if anything goes sideways. We don't retire the old site until you've been live and stable for a while.
What if I'm not sure whether I need the $400 line item?
Ask before you decide anything. We'll check your rankings on the call and tell you plainly whether Rank-Safe Migration applies to your situation. We're not going to sell it to you if it doesn't.
Not sure which situation you're in?
Free site audit pulls your current rankings live and tells you exactly what your migration needs, before you pay a dollar.
